SCHOOLING:
I went to school in an old wooden building, where the town hall is now. We had a classroom in the old town hall too. Where the old High School was situated, was where the Public School was. We'd go from 8 o'clock to 1 o'clock, so we could all go home to do our chores.
CHILDHOOD GAMES
One time, Willard (Bolduc) and I were behind the old Indian School. It used to be in the middle of the field. We each had a 22 there. Fitz (Fitzgerald) was across the river, behind a big spruce tree there.We were firing back and forth at each other!
Willard and I did that again, at "Slack Dick" (Clayton Swanson). We had set rabbit snares out just past the big field. Slack Dick went out ahead to the snares. We caught him coming back with our rabbits. We started firing at him. We kept him stuck behind the rocks steady, for a long time! If the police ever caught us, we'd have gone to jail!
